Board Responsibilities & Overview

March Meeting

In March, the Board reviews the property assessment roll that has been prepared by the Township Assessor, hears appeals from property owners, and makes corrections to the assessment rolls, if necessary. 

July & December Meetings

The July and December Boards of Review meet to address clerical errors and mutual mistakes of fact related to real and personal property assessments. Appeals may also be heard for Qualified Agricultural Exemptions, Taxable Value uncapping, and Poverty (hardship) Exemptions. The July and December Boards of Review are prohibited from hearing disputes related to Property Valuation.

Interested in serving on the Board of Review? Submit an Application for Appointment online or by PDF. Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed by the Township Supervisor and Township Board as vacancies arise or terms expire. Learn more about the process here.
