We're Moving!
Township Hall Closed December 13-15
New Township Hall Location: 7227 West Q Avenue | Kalamazoo, MI 49009
*In-person tax payments still accepted at the existing facility during closure
Provided everything goes according to plan, we are scheduled to move into the new Township Hall facility between December 13-15.
We are trying to limit service interruptions as much as possible, but as you can imagine, moving the records, equipment, and staff that have utilized our current office for DECADES is no small feat! Here is what you can expect at this time:
MOVING TIMELINE (subject to change depending on construction)
- Monday, December 11:Business as usual except for an office closure from 12:00 - 1:00 PM.
- In-person tax payments can still be made during the closure at the current facility (7110 West Q Ave)
- Tuesday, December 12: Business as usual
- Wednesday, December 13 through Friday, December 15: Township office is closed for moving, however, in-person tax payments can still be made at the current facility.
- Monday, December 18: Operations resume at the new facility!
DURING THE OFFICE CLOSURE
- In-person tax payments will be the ONLY available service at 7110 West Q Ave facility.
- In the event of a police or medical emergency, please dial 9-1-1.
- In the event of a township issue that requires immediate attention, please call the Fire Department at 269-375-4610.
- Phones and email will be available to varying degrees during this closure; staff will not be able to fully respond to inquiries until Monday, December 18.
- Building and trade inspections will be available but must be scheduled through email at jmiller@texastownship.org and there may be intermittent interruptions of service.
NORMAL OPERATIONS RESUME MONDAY, DECEMBER 18
- Monday, December 18: Township staff resume normal operations at the NEW facility (7227 West Q Ave).
- Business hours will remain 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday.
- Contact information for phones and email will not change when we move, only our address!
TOWNSHIP MEETINGS
- All Township Board & Committee meetings are planned to continue at the current facility (7110 West Q Ave) through December 31, 2023, unless otherwise noticed.
NEW TOWNSHIP HALL TOURS
- We are excited to show you our new space but we've still got some punch-list items to finalize over the next few weeks. While our facility will be open for business on Monday, December 18, it won’t be quite ready for tours. We will announce public tours and open house dates in early January.
PHASE II - RENOVATION WORK OF EXISTING FACILITY
- The second phase of this project includes demolishing the portion of the existing facility where staff offices are located and renovating the remaining space for Fire Department use. We anticipate this work to begin in early January.
